Dr Silvia Merlino from CNR-ISMAR participated in a dispersion experiment in the Tuscan Archipelagos (8-9/5/2024). The Marine Litter Trackers (smart – drifters), designed in the framework of NAUTILOS, collected information about the peculiar incident of hundreds of plastic bottles found in a very narrow area of seabed in the Spalmatoio gulf, Giannutri Island. A few days later (14/5/2024), another dispersion experiment was organized in La Spezia zone, during which the smart – drifters collected information about the displacement of marine litter from the Magra River.
