Ocean Literacy Campaign

NAUTILOS Quest: Empowering Citizens for a Healthier Ocean

The ocean is at the heart of life on Earth, shaping our climate, providing food and oxygen, and supporting countless species and coastal communities.
At NAUTILOS, we believe that protecting our ocean starts with understanding it. The Ocean Literacy Campaign “NAUTILOS Quest” is an engaging comic series designed to bring ocean science to life in a fun and relatable way, making it accessible and action-driven for everyone.

The goals of the campaign:

Raising Awareness – we share the ocean literacy principles by explaining how the ocean influences us and how our actions impact the ocean.

Encouraging Action – we aim to inspire citizens to adopt pro-environmental behavior and actively participate in ocean research through our citizen science campaigns. By involving non-scientists in real data collection and ocean monitoring, we make marine science a collective effort.

NAUTILOS is about innovative and cost effective ocean monitoring technologies but technology alone isn’t enough. We need people to be part of the solution.

With this campaign, we invite individuals, communities and organizations to become ocean ambassadors. Whether through making sustainable choices, advocating for ocean protection policies or directly participating in citizen science, everyone has a role to play.
