NIVA collaborated with NIS (the Nordic International Support) Foundation to host a Summer School course about plastic pollution in Oslo on the 24th of June 2024. Eighteen school children at the age of 14 years old participated in this course and a beach cleaning for both micro- and macro- plastics was also organised. The goal was to teach children about marine litter as well as how scientists work, where the NAUTILOS NIR scanner was used to identify plastic polymers.
