Dr Bert van Bavel from NIVA started off an open-source initiative on the 27th of January 2025 to produce a low-cost version of the smartphone NIR scanner that was used during NAUTILOS activities in collaboration with 20 mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering students at the OsloMet University (Norway). The students will work on this development during the spring semester for their MEK3300 hardware programming course.
